Highlights From Last Week's Meeting - January 15, 2016

Our Speaker at last Friday's meeting was Cathy Lin, who took us through 5000 years of Chinese cultural history in 20 minutes. Cathy is with the Chinese Cultural Center which is sponsoring the Shen Yun Performing Arts presentation next month in Milwaukee.
 
 
Cathy talked about the Chinese philosophy of oneness of people, the earth and the heavens and how this philosophy endured for thousands of years. During the Post WWII Cultural Revolution era it was almost obliterated, but the past 15 years has seen a reawakening of China in its Cultural Heritage. Now the Shen Yung Performing Arts – a New York based troupe - is bringing the music, dance and stories of China to audiences worldwide.
