Ghouls, Ghosts and Goblins were everywhere this morning with the Western Racquet Club festooned with its spookiest Halloween décor.  Plus, Mother Nature added a “Trick” of her own, giving us a dusting of snow.  The thought of an early winter has Club Members Ralph and Jo Gould heading to the Galapagos and some warm Southern hemisphere weather and John Allen and Doug Jacobson fleeing to Sanibel Island for some golf. But most of us are sticking around including Charley Shirley, who is finally finished with his annual Leaf-a-Thon which is up to 120 bags this year – but who’s counting?!

A shout out to Chris Spresser for organizing a fun get together at the Ruby Tap in Wauwatosa on Thursday night.  And Thom Arndt, got a tap on the shoulder from President Tom Curl to tell us why he joined Rotary – The fellowship and a chance to be involved in the community attracted him to the ERC. Fellowship and Fun – ERC has it all!

Our speaker this morning was Larry Pesch who is Director of Advancement at Brookfield Academy.   Larry gave us a history of BA from its start in 1962 with 33 students, to its current 900 student enrollment in grades from kindergarten through High School.  With students from throughout the Metropolitan Milwaukee area, Brookfield Academy has remained consistent to its mission of providing core traditional academic preparation focused on College preparation. Its success can be measured in the high SAT and ACT scores of its students and 100% college placement record for its graduates.

Next week, our speaker will be Tom Bentley who is Chairman of Bentley World Packaging. Tom will talk about the outlook for US Manufacturing and US Exports in 2015.
