Apr. 22, 2023 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Would you or your children like to get involved in keeping Elm Grove a beautiful place? We could use your help with our semi-annual clean-up of Underwood Creek and the Village Park on Saturday April 22 from 10am - noon! This effort is part of the Milwaukee Riverkeeper (milwaukeeriverkeeper.org) Adopt A River Program.
The small creek that runs through the Village is part of the Milwaukee River basin. The entire basin is being restored to a natural state and Salmon have already been spotted just south of Sendiks!
If we can do our part by removing litter and plastic debris it will greatly contribute to a healthy, thriving ecosystem not only in the park but in the entire Village.
Everyone is welcome, and no experience is needed. Most of the cleanup will be along the shore of the creek. Gloves and trash bags will be provided.
Anyone who owns waders and is comfortable entering the stream is encouraged to do so, but entering the stream is not required.
Come and join us and see the Village from a whole new perspective!
At 11:45 we will have a drone photo of the group with all the trash collected by the “Monet Bridge” in the park.
Immediately following the cleanup is a family friendly Watershed Workshop in the basement of Village hall that is being put on by Southeast Wisconsin Watershed Trust!

The Fox River Trail that ERC has taken responsibility for runs from Brookfield Rd. (by the soon to be completed coffee shop) to the intersection of Barker Rd. and North Ave. This is just over a mile. The task we have is to clean out invasive species along the trail. This time of year the garlic mustard plants are in bloom and easy to spot with their bright yellow "flower". I need to see how many members are willing to spend 2-3 hours (depending on how many people we have) pulling and bagging the garlic mustard on Saturday morning May 27th. Pulling garlic mustard is pretty easy so bring the spouse and the kids to help out in the project. Please respond to danroads21@gmail,com if you can make |

Jun. 10, 2023 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
The Greenfield Ave. portion is Adopt-A- Highway and is an approximate 2 mile stretch of highway from Barker Rd.
to Hwy 164. We are looking for 6 volunteers to pick up trash alongside the highway. This will require an approximate
1 mile walk from the parking area on one side of the highway and then the return 1 mile trip on the other side of the highway.
There would be two teams of 3 people covering the portion of the highway we are responsible for. The volunteers will be walking on the side of the highway, on grass and with a slight change in elevation. An hour and half time commitment is projected.

Jun. 13, 2023 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Each person/family will receive a plot that they will be responsible for. They have asked if we can supply some volunteers that can help folks prepare their garden plot..
If you're interested, please come to the backyard of Wellpoint by the playground with a rake or hoe and be prepared to get your hands dirty and maybe eat a burger or hot dog.
we'll need 5-10 folks.
See attached flier.
