Linda Irwin, Secretary of Book Ahead, shared with Elmbrook Rotary the mission and vision of this non-profit organization. The goal is to provide underserved children ages 0-5, in Waukesha and Milwaukee counties, with a book every month of the year, increasing early literacy and positive parent/child interactions. Reaching 3,500 kids with 10,500 books equates to “3 books in the hands of our littlest readers”.
Book Ahead has become Community partners with:
- HeadStart MPS
- HeadStart Waukesha County
- WIC Waukesha County
- Heavenly Babies
Through these partnerships a vision of future success can be attained “by increasing early literacy each child has a jump start on continued school success.”
