Dr. Mark Hansen, Elmbrook School Superintendent, presented his annual update to the club on the Elmbrook School District’s recent accomplishments and programs. Dr. Hansen has served the district since 2012 and has seen the system flourish and grow both academically and socially.  Recently, he received the State Superintendent of the Year Award for 2024… Congratulations Dr. Hansen!
The School District of Elmbrook’s “Mission is to educate and inspire every student to think, to learn, and to succeed… with the Vision and Core Values to inspire the work of our students, staff and community as we prepare all students for success”.
“We have amazing results across the system.”
As a result of the districts commitment, in 2023, Elmbrook was ranked #1 by niche.com, #2 for ranking on senior ACT testing, #3 on the state report card with K-12 was ranked #4.
The two flagship schools, Brookfield Central and Brookfield East, received gold recognition on the AP school Honor Roll and East was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, being the only high school in Wisconsin and one of only three in the nation.
Of 367 public 4K-12K grade districts rated in the state, Elmbrook is in the top:
  • 1% for overall scores.
  • 1% for achievement.
  • 1% for growth scores.
  • 2% for target group outcome scores.
  • 2% for on-track to graduation score.
“Our schools all exceed, or significantly exceed expectations… this is an expectation in our community… we are a high expectation community, and we have high performance from our students.”
Dr. Hansen reviewed the various programs available to students, such as, Launch, athletics, performing arts and other opportunities for students to learn and grow.
He also touched on the ten district schools, planning, and financial stability. This well managed district has a tax mill rate that has gone down from $13.60 in 1993 to $7.47 in 2023.
The Elmbrook Teaching and Learning Department is “committed to helping the schools in our district meet the needs of each and every student”.
“Because of this core belief to reach every student, every time, all the time, we embrace the principles of personalized learning in all that we do - thoughtful lesson design using rigorous curriculum, assessment information to drive instruction, student voice and choice in the classroom, meaningful integration of instructional technology and other tools to engage students, and authentic and honest feedback to students about their learning and progress.”
Thank you, Dr. Hansen, for sharing the latest news about our great schools, staff members, students, and parents.
