ImageErik grew up in a small farming community in western Illinois called Alpha. At 800 people and .32 square miles, Alpha makes Elm Grove look enormous.

In 1993, Erik graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL, with a degree in Public Rations. He was the seventh member of this family to attend Bradley, including both of his parents and one of his two siblings. His parents are so enamored of their experience at Bradley that Erik was given the middle name of Bradley. Erik shares that love of Bradley by volunteering on the University’s Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Of critical importance to Erik’s time at Bradley was the introduction to his future wife, Lisa. Upon graduation, Erik followed Lisa – a Brookfield/Elm Grove native – to Milwaukee to start his career. (At the time, Lisa’s father, Jim Scott, was a member of Elmbrook Rotary). Erik and Lisa were married in 1996 and have two daughters, Mia and Tessa, and have lived in Elm Grove since 2002.

Erik spent his first 18 years in Milwaukee in the publishing industry. For 15 years, he worked at Kalmbach Publishing Co. in Waukesha, starting in advertising sales before moving into internet marketing. Later, Erik spent two years at Reader’s Digest in Greendale.

Erik is currently the eBusiness Manager at Dental Associates, Wisconsin’s largest family-owned group dental practice. Erik manages the company’s digital strategy and internet marketing efforts, including content development on their websites, search engine optimization, and social media activity. In addition to full service dental centers that feature every dental specialty from general dentists, pediatric dentists, and orthodontists, to dental specialists like oral surgeons, endodontists, periodontist, and prothodontists, Dental Associates also features a dental insurance business called CarePlus Dental Plans. CarePlus offers dental insurance to individuals as well as businesses large and small. CarePlus offers managed care plans to employers who are seeking high-quality dental care for their employees while keeping the cost of dental health plans affordable. We can cater a plan for companies as small as 2 employees, and as big as Wisconsin’s largest employers.

When Erik isn’t working, he enjoys golf, home improvement projects, and woodworking. Erik was attracted to Rotary because he was looking for an outlet to give back to the community of Elm Grove.
