Cindy Warner (Professional Executive Coaching, LLC) visited the Elmbrook Rotary Club on Friday, September 6, to discuss logic, emotion, and "horse sense." The full title of her presentation was "Emotional Intelligence and Character: Lessons in Leadership."

A Rotarian from Fond du Lac, she explained that our hearts create an emotional field that is 50x larger than our heads. She also shared that a horse's heart is 12x larger than a human heart; therefore, our equine friends understand emotional connections much quicker and better than we humans do. In fact, her own horse Echo often imitates her very movements and can sense her emotions. Applied to human relationships, this means that understanding and responding to emotions is just as important as is the intellect (mind).
