Newer member, Sally Peifer recently gave her Classification Talk at a Friday Meeting and shared her background, work history and interests.

Sally grew up in the small town of Cato, Wisconsin. She attended U-W Whitewater where she earned a degree in General Business with a Law Emphasis. Sally began her legal career thereafter in Chicago, working as a legal secretary and then a paralegal in a patent and trademark firm in the Loop. She also studied for and was conferred a Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University in Chicago. After working at the law firm and for Budget Rent a Car’s legal department, Sally decided to pursue her law degree. Sally attended Marquette University Law School, and earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1994.

Following law school, Sally worked at a small boutique employment law firm in Milwaukee. In the fall of 1998, Sally joined THE SCHROEDER GROUP, S.C., ATTORNEYS AT LAW, where today she heads up the employment law practice for her firm. Sally provides legal advice to business clients in a wide variety of employment-related matters – including employment discrimination, wage & hour matters, FMLA, disability accommodation issues, employment contract and non-compete agreements – and other employment-related matters.

Sally also believes in giving back to her community. She recently completed 12 years on the Board of the Elmbrook Humane Society and is a current member of the Board of Directors for the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce. Sally also recently joined the board of Feeding America – Eastern Wisconsin – a non-profit that distributes food to hunger-relief pantries, meal programs and shelters throughout the eastern portion of Wisconsin. In addition, Sally serves as the chair of the Human Resources Committee at her church, St. Joan of Arc in Nashotah.

Sally and her husband, Scott, recently celebrated 23 years of marriage. They have 2 children – Lauren who will be a Freshman at Syracuse University studying biochemistry and public health, and Alec, who will be a Junior at Kettle Moraine High School. Sally is a huge Green Bay Packer fan, and religiously attends home games with her husband every season. In her free time, Sally enjoys gardening, reading and wine-tasting. In fact, Sally and Scott steal away to visit Napa and Sonoma wineries at least once each year and bring their treasures home to share with family and friends. Salud!

Please welcome and say Hi to Sally the next time you see you at a Club meeting!
