The last several weeks has seen a flurry of activity for Elmbrook Rotary as we ended one Rotary year and began another along with celebrating activities on July 4th. Last week, on June 29th we had our annual Changing of the Guard where we celebrated our achievements from the past year and swore in of our new Officers and Directors. We also thanked outgoing Club President Mark Zalewski for his dedicated year of service.

Changing of the Guard also saw additional funds raised through our Silent Auction which was run this year by Linda Wickstrom who did an amazing job. A total of $$6,402 was raised from donations and when combined with the amounts raised from Spikes for Tikes that was held on June 4, our overall total for this fundraising effort was $50,286 which will be put towards our programs over the next year. Thanks to Linda for all her efforts and to everyone who donated or purchased items!

Then on July 4th, our new Club President, Mike Hogan rode in the Brookfield 4th of July Parade while Club Members John and Jeanne Allen were overseeing the annual 4th of July Fun Run in Elm Grove Village Park that we’ve sponsored for years. At the same time, Thom Arndt and a group of volunteers were setting up the concession stand, grills for serving food and beverages that lasted throughout the day until after the Fireworks.

Our 2016-2017 Rotary year is off to a BANG so thanks to everyone who took part or helped out with these activities.
