This week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Rotary International headquarters in Evanston, IL. The timing couldn’t have been better; it was a stunning fall day, with the sunlight glistening on Lake Michigan. Most meaningfully, it was the day before World Polio Day. In front of the Rotary building is a statue of a man administering the polio vaccine to children and it speaks volumes about the impact Rotarians have worldwide. It serves as a powerful reminder that when we come together, we can achieve remarkable things.

Just before my visit, I discovered that my colleague and fellow Rotarian, Noaman Sharief, had also recently visited Rotary International, where he received a warm welcome from none other than Paul Harris! Here’s Noaman’s takeaway from the experience: “As mentioned at a meeting and on the Signal group, I highly recommend that all Rotarians visit the RI HQ in Evanston to realize how impactful our collective efforts have been over the years.” I couldn’t agree more!

Lydia, thank you for sharing your trip to Rotary International.
